Project Description
Megalodon Figure
Natural History Museum
San Diego, California
The San Diego Natural History Museum acquired a full-size representation of a prehistoric shark for its permanent collection. This figure has an internal structural frame connected to special connectors in the building.
The result is a figure that is larger than any shark currently in existence, floating over 20 feet above visitors in the lobby of the museum. Working closely with artists and the fabricators, Paul Benton provided structural design and project management to provide for the delivery, assembly and final installation of this figure in a building.
